2025 was a rewarding year here at Gunn-Winslow, capped off by another round of grants to incredible organizations supporting under-served children in the D.C. area. Jordi Hutchinson, Executive Director of Everybody Wins DC, leads one of our grantees, and we were pleased to receive the following update from her:
“We’re so honored and excited to partner with the Winslow Foundation to bring read-aloud activities to even more kids in Wards 7 and 8. In fact, we jumped right in and had our first “Winslow” StoryTime this week at Randle Highlands! We shared After the Fall with a group of 4 year olds. We also did an activity aligned with the book’s theme, with kids talking about overcoming their fears and getting backup & trying again. It was adorable! It went so well we’re doing it all again tomorrow with a group of 6-year-olds at Savoy Elementary School.
The next step on our end will be to start conversations with a few possible expansion locations to see which is the best fit for StoryTime. We’ll keep you posted!”
