As we enter another impactful year at Gunn-Winslow, we’re thrilled to highlight our partnership with The Literacy Lab, whose work is making a real difference in early childhood literacy. Thanks to our grant, The Literacy Lab has been able to provide research-based literacy instruction to pre-K students in the Washington area, helping build critical skills for success in Kindergarten and beyond.
Heather Jenkins, PhD., CEO & President of The Literacy Lab, recently shared her gratitude and excitement about our partnership:
“The Literacy Lab is deeply grateful for the dedicated partnership of the Gunn Winslow Foundation. Your generous grant in the 2024-2025 school year enabled us to build capacity in Washington-area schools, provide research-based literacy instruction to children in economically disadvantaged communities, and contribute to improved Kindergarten-readiness for more than 130 pre-K students.”
The photos shown here were provided by The Literacy Lab team, showcasing the engaging, hands-on learning experiences that are helping young learners develop a strong foundation for their educational journey.
The Gunn-Winslow team is proud to support The Literacy Lab’s mission and looks forward to continuing our work together to expand access to quality early literacy education in our community.
